The Butterfly Effect In Chaos Theory "The Butterfly Effect" states that small disturbances or stimuli in a system at early stages of its development can have drastic effects on the development and outcome of the system as it develops. The theory stems from the notion that the flapping of a butterfly's wings can eventually grow into a tornado. What does that have to do with education?
Even the smallest impressions in a student's life can have lasting effects on his educational development and his life's outcome. Positive input may leave lasting impressions on their goals, their determination, their will and their future. Negative input can create a cataclysmically destructive impression that may corrupt and destroy their development. As Parents, Teachers, Administrators and most of all, Mentors, we have a fiduciary responsibility to give our children each and every opportunity to: - To Learn How to Learn
- To Try and to Succeed
- To Attempt and to Fail
- To Accept Praise
- To Grow from Criticism
- To Lead with Pride
- To Follow by Example
- To Follow Directions
- To Structure Their Own Future and not Allow One to Simply Unfold
The Enclosed illustration, by Sean McCabe is a graphical representation of a Chaotic system. It begins as an ordered pattern and at an early stage a disruption is introduced to create a representation of how the butterfly effect creates an ever growing and drastic change on a system.
